Gallery One to welcome new artists at June 8 reception
Gallery One announced the addition of two new local artists, Laurie Fields and Ed Lewandowski, and will host a meet-the-artists reception from 4 to 6 p.m, Saturday, June 8, at 32 Atlantic Ave., Ocean View.
Fields is a contemporary mixed-media artist who has been working in a resident position at the Torpedo Studio Art Center in Alexandria, Va., for the last 40 years. Fields’ vibrant and provocative artwork is included in several prestigious corporate collections and has also been showcased in a number of national magazines. Fields holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Hartford.
“I am intrigued by all kinds of materials and love to imagine how to combine and integrate them in unexpected new ways,” said Fields.
With a bachelor of science degree in marine biology, Lewandowski has served as executive director of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays and acting director for Delaware Sea Grant at the University of Delaware. His paintings have captured the attention of collectors and jurors. Lewandowski‘s vibrant coastal landscapes evoke an expansive sense of place and time. He has received numerous accolades in regional shows.
