Gary S. Price, had jovial spirit
Gary S. Price, 78, of Lewes passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at his home. He was born July 2, 1941, in Luzerne, Pa., son of the late William and Rose Price.
Gary was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1959-63. After his military time, he built a career as a process operator for the Barcroft Company in Lewes, retiring in 1997 after more than 25 dedicated years. Gary was always a jovial spirit and enjoyed spending time with a large, extended family that included nieces, nephews and their children. He was an enthusiast of automobiles and spent time working on several vintage Chevy trucks. Gary was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all things wildlife, especially birdwatching. He was a loyal and devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Patty Morris; and his brother William Price. He is survived by his brother Cliff Price of Apache Junction, Ariz.; his nephews: John W. Beauchamp of Lewes and Matthew Brittingham of Georgetown; and his nieces: Shelly Beauchamp of Brigantine, N.J., Judi Brittingham of Harbeson and Billie Jo Cooper of Dagsboro.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m., at Groome United Methodist Church, 601 Savannah Road, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the services at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Gary's memory to Groome United Methodist Church, PO Box 299, Lewes, DE 19958.
