The Gazette travels to Spain to visit beloved Navy family

November 16, 2018

Cape Gazette readers Bob & Amy McDermott recently traveled to Roca, Spain to visit their daughter, Stephanie, son-in-law Joe and granddaughter Caroline. The Gaglianos, a Navy family, relocated to Spain last February and will be there for 3 years.

“Bob and I recently took our first big trip away from our young company, Seniors Helping Seniors which we opened 4 years ago.” said Amy. “We took day trips with the family to Vejer de la Frontera, a beautiful walled town in the mountains. Also, spent a morning shopping at a street fair, visiting an ancient monastery and another day visiting the beach town of Rota. A side trip to Gibraltar was great fun too and such an unusual place right in the middle of coastal Spain! This was our first trip to Europe and we quickly found ourselves switching from dollars to euros to pounds. I’m afraid some people thought we were fabulous tippers while others probably thought we were cheapskates! Bob and I also visited Lisbon, Fatima and Nazare. We fell in love with Lisbon, our kind of place and it’s very romantic too! Our journey ended in Madrid. We already miss the kids and can’t wait for our next visit.”
