George W. Hearne Jr., Chevron retiree

George W. Hearne Jr. of Lincoln passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, June 23, 2021, surrounded by the family that he loved.  George was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late George W. Sr. and Myrtle McWilliams Hearne.  

George worked in purchasing with Chevron Corporation before retiring many years ago, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. 

George was a very private man who loved an adventure, whether fact or fiction.  He was a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather; a great man and friend who will be dearly missed by those who loved him.  When not spending time with his family, working outside cutting grass or tinkering on projects, he loved to play cards with friends, puzzles, dominos and watching westerns with his wife Mary Ann. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Linda; stepdaughter Donna Jo Ann Ewing; stepson, Mark Richard Ewing; and sister, Dorothy Weaver.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Ann (Isaacs) Hearne; son-in-law, John Marshall; five granddaughters, Caitlin, Erin, Kellie, Alyse and Heidi; one grandson, Andrew; four great-granddaughters, Destinee, Keira, Siarra and Hailey; five great-grandsons, Tyler, Jayson and his wife Madian, John, Tomaine and Oliver; two great-great-granddaughters, Hazel and Alyiah; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

A private graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 29.
