Georgetown Christmas Parade set Dec. 1

November 19, 2016

Downtown Georgetown will play host again this year to one of the biggest and best Christmas parades of the holiday season. The Georgetown Christmas Parade is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Sussex County seat.

"Our committee has been working very hard, and I would like to personally invite everyone to Georgetown on Dec. 1 for a fun-filled evening in celebration of the Christmas spirit," says Angela Emerson, Greater Georgetown Chamber of Commerce  president. "We've had a huge response this year and think we have a really great event planned for one and all. We hope to see you on the Thursday after Thanksgiving as we kick off the Christmas season in Georgetown."

This year's theme is Christmas Dreams, and the parade will culminate with the arrival of Santa Claus. As usual, scores of floats, marching bands, classic cars, fire engines and much more will participate.
