Go Figure's Cab juice sources from top Napa growers
The following is a tangential topic, but way too interesting not to pass along. I Snopesed it. The 3D copier is also being made to work with chocolate. To quote my first music teacher, Vic Salvo, "What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve."
"Member" Momo 2009, Wine Spectator highest-ranked Pinot Noir, 2011 issue, with Pinot Noirs under $20. A very tough category. There are plenty over $20, of course. Momo, from Marlborough, rated 90 points, will drink through 2015, can be found in the $16-18 range. Look for cherry, mocha, new leather nose and mouthwatering dark fruit, smoky tannin and mild oak palate. Lot of Pinot Noir for its price.
I write frequently of Go Figure Cabernet Sauvignon. A varietal Cabernet but atypical because the juice is sourced from some of the top growers in Napa. The wine is produced by Gary Fisch, the proprietor of Gary's Wines in New Jersey and the promoter of the charity tasting touted in this column each year as a rival to the Wine Spectator extravaganza at a fraction of the price.
Recently I saw a six-pack posted at Gary's that included two La Jota Howell Mountain 2001, rated 92 points; two Oakville Ranch 2007, RP 92, which was discussed here two months ago, and two Go Figure 2008 sourced from a famous Spring Mountain vineyard.
The six-pack is $185 with free shipping. Since the Delaware Dems have made it illegal to buy out of state you must go to the local wine shoppe buddy to facilitate. They should do this for a small service charge if you have cultivated their friendship. The prices on the La Jota and Oakville Ranch at current market say you get the GF free. The vintages allow you to drink 2001 now, then the GF and cellar the Oakville until next year.

As the fight over the budget and deficits continue it would be good to consider the policies of each side.
I am not espousing either side, but I am exhorting all to inform their opinions, then contact their elected officials to express their wishes.
This was the fashion in which our government was constructed. With today's easy means of instant communication our system should actually wax into its full capacity. I do believe there is no easy way out of this mess. In my opinion the options are: take the medicine now or later. Please remember when contacting: courteous, brief and factual or just a please vote yes or no may be best.
2008 Andersen Conn Valley Reserve Cab, true to form, rocketed up over 40 percent when given a 98 by RP (94 by most others).
This is a luscious wine that needs cellar time. I'm sure it falls back into the $60 range. My advice is to buy the 2002, which was rated 95 points, is in its perfect drinking window and can be found close to $55/bottle. Tack on a modest profit for your local wine guy or gal please. March 2011 tasting notes: opaque purple, bouquet of creme de cassis, smoke, rose petal and gravel. Proper acidity, sweet tannins, balanced, earthy dark berry and smoky cedar on the full mid-palate, long, concentrated finish. Still evolving; drinking beautifully now; cellars through 2025, at least.
Kudos to Rehoboth for great Fourth of July display. I hope all enjoyed Independence Day. Remember the whole world has July Fourth but only USA enjoys Independence Day.
