Groome Church to host Choralis Chamber Ensemble concert
Groome Church will host a concert at 6 pm., Saturday, Dec. 9, featuring the Choralis Chamber Ensemble at 601 Savannah Road, Lewes. The concert will benefit Lewes Historical Society.
The Rev. Dr. S. Willard Crossan, Groome pastor, said, “We’re thrilled to present our last benefit concert of the year to support the Lewes Historical Society, and are especially pleased to have greater Washington, D.C.-based Choralis here to help us celebrate the Christmas holiday and thank LHS for all they do to preserve and tell the story of Lewes’ founding and remarkable history. Coming off their Dec. 2 always-sold-out Christmas concert in Washington, we are additionally appreciative of Choralis – and Artistic Director Gretchen Kuhrmann – coming to Lewes and choosing Groome to make their Delaware premiere.”
Andrew Lyter, Lewes Historical Society executive director, said, “The society loves the holidays; it’s a beautiful and festive time on our campus and all over Lewes! Groome’s benefit concert adds much to this special time of the year and is a lovely and much-appreciated gift to LHS. The event is also an opportunity to recognize Groome’s 120 years in Lewes and their beautiful stained glass windows depicting scenes from our town’s history, a perfect and special setting for a concert celebrating LHS and Christmas.”
