The Lewes Historical Society presents Grownups' Night Out at the Children's Museum from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 18, a celebration of the Children's Discovery Center at the Lewes History Museum, where adults will have a chance to explore their inner children.
Attendees will learn about all the new maritime-themed exhibits while enjoying great food by Palate Bistro and Catering. A choice of wines and local brews will be available from Big Oyster, Crooked Hammock, Beach Time Distilling, and Dogfish Head.
The event also features a live auction with many exclusive items not to be missed. Some of the auction highlights include: Pilot Boat Ride Out to a Big Ship, a rare opportunity to take a ride on a pilot launch on its way to deliver a pilot to a big ship heading up the Delaware River; Freedom Boat Club Membership, a month of boating including training for new boaters; a Four-hour Boat Ride for 12 on a pontoon with a captain at the helm, courtesy of Freedom Boat Club with spirits provided by Beach Time Distilling; a low-digit Delaware commercial license plate No. C4814; a Lewes Weekend Getaway for Two including two-night stay in a condo on the water, bike rental and dinner at Striper Bites; and three tandem kayaks, six beach chairs, three umbrellas for four hours on Lewes Beach provided by Quest Kayak, followed by a tour of Big Oyster Brewery and beer tasting.
