Guy Stuff makes a move on Savannah Road
Someone who has never visited Guy Stuff in Lewes has a pretty good idea what they’ll find inside – guy stuff.
Owners, brothers Bob and Mal Ward, said although the consignment shop is called Guy Stuff, women are welcome. It says so on the sign outside above the door.
The business’s previous name was The Men’s Exchange. In November, the Wards also changed the name. They moved the business from its original location on Savannah Road to a larger building across the street.
“The good thing is we haven’t lost anybody. We get a lot a support from the local community,” Bob said.
Opened a little more than a year ago, the owners said items are priced to sell, and their aim is to satisfy customers so they’ll come back to buy or consign other items.
The shop has a variety of hand and power tools to help get jobs done. Someone in search of a tool –anything from a screwdriver, hammer, nail punch or adjustable wrench – could find it in the shop at a fraction of what it would cost purchased new.
They also have a few collectible items, such as vintage Sports Illustrated magazines and die-cast miniature vehicles.
The shop features a growing selection of sports equipment, bicycles of several styles and sizes and bicycle parts. The brothers plan to begin selling a selection of new surf-fishing rods.
“We’ll have rods that are 6 ½ to 9 ½ feet long,” Bob said.
