Heidi Lowe Gallery earring exhibit to pop up in Mexico City Feb. 7-11
Heidi Lowe Gallery will be taking this year’s Earrings Galore exhibition on the road again, or in this case, on an airplane, for a pop-up exhibition in Mexico City’s Roma neighborhood.
The show will be displayed from Wednesday to Sunday, Feb. 7 to 11, at the Iker Ortiz Jewelry Store. A reception is set for 6 to 11 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8. A contemporary jeweler with an international presence, Iker Ortiz is also in the Earrings Galore show, and is a featured artist at Heidi Lowe Gallery. The Earrings Galore Pop-Up Exhibition is just one of many great exhibitions, events and programs that will be going on in Mexico City during Zona Maco, Latin America’s largest international contemporary art fair. Gaby Alvarado, a jeweler and teacher on the Heidi Lowe Gallery team, and an artist from Mexico City, has been leading the charge and is instrumental in facilitating this pop-up exhibition.
“We are beyond excited to bring Earrings Galore to Mexico City. We can’t wait to show in Iker’s beautiful, modern showroom, and to introduce the exhibition to a new international audience and Gaby’s and Iker’s local communities,” said Lowe.
Earrings Galore is an annual juried exhibition exemplifying a rich and diverse array of earrings made by emerging and established studio jewelers. Each artist’s unique approach to the earring format will be represented in a cohesive grouping of earrings.
The gallery is open for shopping, and private and group classes at 119 Front St., Lewes.
