Helen Elizabeth Berg, consummate hostess

Helen Elizabeth Berg, 74, of Lewes, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, at Cadbury at Lewes. She was born Sunday, April 11, 1943, in Terre Haute, Ind., daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Knight) Schneible.

Mrs. Berg was the consummate hostess. She loved decorating and coordinating dinner parties for her adored family and friends. Mrs. Berg had a special way of making everyone around her feel important and welcome, as evidenced by anyone fortunate enough to share a place at her table. She enjoyed shopping, dining out and playing bridge. Her favorite vacation destination was Cancun, Mexico, where she journeyed every September with her family. She cherished the time spent with her family, whom she treasured above all else. She was a doting and devoted wife, mother and dear friend. She will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Mrs. Berg is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, James V. Berg; her children: Frederick Berg, Christopher Berg and Tracy Berg; her grandchildren: Colton Berg, Brandon Berg, Ashley Berg, Elizabeth Berg and Dana Onassis; and her very dear friend, Pat Connor.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
