Helen Sill Jackson, retired banker, volunteer
Helen Sill Jackson, 88, of Wilmington, where she was currently living with her son, Rick Shoemaker, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024. She was born March 16, 1936.
In 1981, when JP Morgan Bank opened in Delaware, Helen was among the first 100 hired, and she retired in 1998. She and her husband, Ed, moved to Millsboro, and while living in Millsboro, Helen was employed by County Bank in Rehoboth Beach. In her free time, Helen volunteered for various organizations.
Waiting to greet Helen when she enters her new home are her parents, Les and Lola Sill; husband, Edward Jackson; son, William “Bud” Shoemaker; brothers, Francis “Les” and John Sill; and niece, Daniele Albanese.
Survivors include her son, Richard “Rick” Shoemaker, with whom she lived; sister, Ann Herrin (Woodie); sisters-in-law, Lorraine Sill, Gladys Sill and Joan Krakowski; bonus sons, Edward and Bruce Jackson; and bonus grandchildren, Samantha and Breydan. Helen is also survived by her special daughter-in-law, Martha Shoemaker (“Bud” deceased); Martha’s sons, Anthony (Di) and Matthew (Jodie) Reilly; Reilly grandchildren, Mason, Dylan, Blake and Kendall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends from both the Sill and Shoemaker families.
The family would like to thank the visiting staff of Bayada Hospice for their comfort and care for Helen during this difficult time.
