Historic Maull House will be open to the public Dec. 3

The Col. David Hall Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will welcome visitors to the Thomas Maull House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.,  Saturday, Dec. 3, at 536 Pilottown Road, Lewes.

In addition to tours, there will be a bake sale and hand-knit maritime mitts for sale, with proceeds to benefit maintenance of the house.

Knitters are Lana Browne, DAR member, and members of the local knitting guild based in Georgetown including Linda Fischer, Lori Metz, Sandy Casanova, Violet Hynson, Dorothy Niemczuk, Gainor Urian, Lynda Teodoro and Carolyn M. Humes. Permission to use the knitting pattern was given by the designer, Mary Jane Mucklestone, and materials were provided by Sea Needles in Bethany Beach.

The historic 1739 home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Period furniture, textiles and decorative arts will be on display in the carefully restored house. Public parking is available on the canal side of the property.
