Hoey Stevenson will help build state’s future

October 17, 2024

As a young man looking to the future, I know how important it is to have a place where I can thrive, raise a family and be proud to call home. That’s why I’m excited about Kim Hoey Stevenson. She’s someone who understands that building a strong future isn’t just about today; it’s about setting the foundation for tomorrow.

One of the reasons I support Kim is her dedication to preserving the quality of life we all want. She’s a big advocate for protecting our environment, which is huge for someone like me who wants clean air, open spaces and beautiful parks for my future kids to enjoy. During her time on the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission, Kim fought to preserve trees, open land and water resources. She wants to make sure we have sustainable development that protects our local natural beauty, not just overcrowded neighborhoods and stressed-out infrastructure. Her positive connections with the county government will help to get the state and county working together for solutions.

Kim also gets that economic opportunity is key. Whether you’re just starting out in your career, trying to launch a business or hoping for a community where good jobs exist, she’s on it. Kim supports small businesses, and getting rid of red-tape barriers that keep them from starting. As a state senator, she’ll work to keep our local economy vibrant.

In the area of schools, Kim is committed to making a difference. She runs the Cape Henlopen School District Mentoring Program and understands that a great education system is crucial for families, our economy and even in attracting medical personnel. Kim will push for policies that ensure kids are getting the quality education they deserve while supporting teachers and families.

And maybe most importantly, Kim listens. She’s the kind of leader who wants to hear from all sides and really considers what’s best for everyone, not just special-interest groups. She’ll work hard to make sure our community is a place where everyone has a shot at success, and I believe she’s the right choice to help us build a future we can all be proud of.
