James E. Fitzhugh Jr., Acme retiree

James E. Fitzhugh Jr., 68, of Milford, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022.  He was born Oct. 30, 1953.

Jimmy, as he was affectionally called, worked as a meat cutter for Acme Markets for 35 years, before retiring in the summer of 2010. 

Jimmy loved spending time outdoors. He was a die-hard New York Yankees fan. You rarely saw him without his baseball cap. 

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cora Fitzhugh. 

Jimmy is survived by Trenda of Milford; their two children, whom he dearly loved, Summer (John) of Newark, and James (Kristin) of Lincoln; and four grandchildren, Brenden, Aubrie, Kaylie and Kenzie. He will be greatly missed by many. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 7, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 274 N. Rehoboth Blvd., Milford. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Jimmy was a casual person. In his honor, casual attire is encouraged.
