Jimmie Allen concerts raises money for Beacon PTO

December 22, 2022

Country music superstar Jimmie Allen raised $20,000 for the Beacon Middle School PTO at two sold-out concerts Dec. 16-17 at the Rusty Rudder and Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach.

On Friday, Allen performed in front of an under-21 packed house of students at the Rudder. The 2004 Cape Henlopen High School grad stayed after the show to give autographs and take pictures with his young fans, including some who had his book “My Voice Is a Trumpet” to sign.

Allen told his young fans that lower Delaware is his favorite place to visit and the Bettie James Fest is his favorite place to perform.

“We are so grateful to Jimmie Allen for donating proceeds from these events to Beacon Middle School,” said Beacon PTO President Stephanie Mastrangelo. “It is a win-win for everyone in our community in that not only do our local schools benefit, but we are able to enjoy his music and talent right here in our hometown with our family and friends. As parents, we are constantly trying to teach our children how to be good people, and Jimmie is someone that all our kids can look up to as a role model, as well as just loving and enjoying his music. He is an inspiration to our kids, but also the parents with how he constantly gives back to others and gives a sense of hope for all to pursue their dreams.”

Allen returned Saturday with his full band for an over-21 concert at the Cork.
