John Sadler named principal at Delmarva Christian Schools' Eagle's Nest campus
Mike Vonhof, head of school for Delmarva Christian Schools, has announced that John Sadler has been appointed principal at Delmarva Christian's Eagle's Nest campus. A teacher, administrator and coach at Delmarva Christian High School, Sadler started his new position July 1. "I'm excited about getting to know the students and teachers at Eagle's Nest and building on the strong history and tradition at the school," said Sadler.
Delmarva Christian High School officials announced in May that the school and Eagles Nest would be merging and operating under the name Delmarva Christian Schools. The Eagles Nest campus is adjacent to the Eagle's Nest Fellowship Church on Zion Church Road near the intersection of Route 1 and Route 16.
Eagle's Nest school started in 1997 as an early learning and daycare center for children in their twos, threes and fours. The school hosted about 181 students in the 2014-2015 school year. Vonhof said the school now takes children as early as six weeks old and educates them through the eighth grade. Delmarva Christian's school in Georgetown teaches students in ninth through twelfth grades.
"We know John will bring new leadership and energy to Eagle's Nest," said Vonhof. "He has a passion for excellence and will take the great things about Eagle's Nest and DCS and put them together. With a foundation built on God's word, arts and education, and athletics, we think this will have a very positive impact on the community." There will be an open house at Eagle's Nest Thursday, July 9, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for new and existing school families to meet John and the Delmarva Christian Schools' staff and take a look at the school's facilities.
