Joseph G. George Sr., loved the harmonica

Joseph G. George Sr., 91, passed away peacefully at home in Long Neck, July 5, 2016. Born Feb. 25, 1925, Joe served during World War II from 1943-46 as a member of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death in 1993 by his wife, Florence Ignudo George. Joe lived most of his life in New Castle County, and was famously known as the owner of The Italian Table on Limestone Road in Wilmington.

He is survived by his children, Barbara Heck (Herm) and Joseph George (Hope); and grandchildren, Diane Heck and Tom Heck (Jeanie).

Joe will be remembered for his musical ability and his love of the harmonica. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather.

The family is very grateful to Katrina and her staff at Your Heart Is In Our Hands private care services for their devotion and kindness over the last year.

A service will be held later this month at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, with a military tribute.
