Kathleen B. MacNamara, retired banker

Kathleen B. MacNamara, 84, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. Born in Elkton, Md., Oct. 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John Aloysius and Catherine Lytle Beers.

Kathy had a long and successful career as a bank manager, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic until her well-deserved retirement. Outside of work, she had a passion for yard “sailing” and antiquing. Kathy enjoyed finding hidden gems and cherished the thrill of discovering unique, timeless pieces.

Survivors include her children, John Terence Mackie of Parkville, Md., Lisa Mackie of Easton, Md., Carolyn Rhegness (Jim) of St. Augustine, Fla., and Susan Mackie of Havertown, Pa.; grandchildren, Meghan Roughton (Harrison), Lauren Rhegness, Kendra O’Connor and Eamon O’Connor; great-granddaughter, Reagan Roughton; brother, Thomas Beers of Cincinnati, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rev. J. Michael Beers and Lawrence Beers; and son-in-law, Dennis O’Connor.

Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 24, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Singerly Road, Elkton, Md.
