K.C. Hurry, decorated veteran

S/MSGT K.C. Hurry, USAF/Ret., 85, an 18-year resident of Milford, passed from this world Friday evening, Jan. 22, 2021.  Sgt. Hurry was born April 20, 1935, in Monroeville, Ala., the eldest son of Moton Hurry and Cammie Taite. His remaining siblings are Mrs. Fanya Dozier and her husband, Mr. Michael Dozier of Tampa, Fla., and his sister, Ms. Chi Rica Hurry of Pensacola, Fla. 

He is preceded in death by his son Barry A. Hurry.

Sgt. Hurry is survived by his only living child, his daughter, Sherry Hurry Hancock and his son-in-law, Daniel Hancock of Albuquerque, N.M., and a daughter-in-law Christina Hurry, along with two grandchildren, Amber and George Hurry.  K.C. leaves behind numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Sgt. Hurry was a decorated military veteran with 24 years of service to his beloved country; he was an animal lover, an amateur photographer, a motorcycle enthusiast, a U.S. and world traveler, a gifted mechanic, and an all-around fun-loving and generous human being. He was much beloved by local merchants in the Milford area, and will also be greatly missed by his wonderful friends and kind neighbors. He'd lived all over the world and loved his chosen home state of Delaware.

A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro.  A Chapel service with military honors will follow at 2 p.m., at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in K.C.’s memory be made to The Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.  Your prayers and good wishes are much appreciated.
