The Historic Lewes Farmers Market Kids’ Day Aug. 19 included several garden and environment-related activities including a scavenger hunt, prizes, a produce Twister game and a chance to participate in the City of Lewes Environmental Footprints project, which included families. In addition, children with an adult who had a SNAP card received an extra $10 in bonus bucks.
The market was held at the Lewes Elementary School parking lot because of construction at George H.P. Smith Park, the normal location for the summer market, which takes place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through Sept. 30. The market will also take place at the school parking lot Saturday, Aug. 26.
The fall market will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturdays, from Oct. 7 through Nov. 18 at the school parking lot.
The Wednesday market from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Crooked Hammock Brewery on Kings Highway, Lewes, runs through Sept. 6.
