Know Your Rights training set for allies of immigrant communities

ACLU of Delaware to host online session Feb. 10
February 5, 2025

In the wake of several federal actions that threaten immigrants’ rights across the country, the ACLU of Delaware is hosting Know Your Rights training to educate allies about the ways they can protect Delaware’s immigrant communities.

A virtual session will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10, via Zoom. An in-person session will meet at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb 25, at the Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes. Each session is approximately one hour long.

The trainings will educate participants on how to navigate Immigration and Customs Enforcement and law enforcement in their local community; understanding warrants and search rights; and the best ways to support their family members, neighbors, co-workers and community members who may be vulnerable to anti-immigration policies.

The trainings are open to the public and will be offered in English. The material covered will be especially helpful to people who work with immigrants, provide services to immigrant communities, or are educators, healthcare workers or others who may be wondering how they can navigate the changing environment around immigrants' rights.

To register, go to aclu-de.org. To request Know Your Rights print resources, go to action.aclu.org/webform/request-de-materials.

Trainings are hosted in partnership with the Delaware Hispanic Commission and the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement.
