The Col. David Hall Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a tulip festival bake sale and house tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 8, at the Thomas Maull House, 536 Pilottown Road, Lewes.
The historic 1739 home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In December, 714 visitors toured the home.
DAR members garbed in 18th century costumes will serve as docents for the tour. Period furnishings and decorative arts will be on display in the carefully restored house. The Maull House is the only DAR-owned building in Delaware and remains on its original plot.
Home-baked goods will be offered for sale, individually wrapped and packaged. The bake sale is a major fundraiser supporting the historic preservation of the property.
Public parking is available on the canal side of the property, and visitors are welcome to take photos in front of the nearby Fountain of Youth, purported to be a well from the 1600s.
