March 1, 2024

Lewes Lettering Co. announced upcoming calligraphy workshops to be held at its downtown Lewes shop.

The workshops provide a casual yet informative setting for participants to explore the world of lettering. No prior experience is necessary, just an open mind and a desire to explore something new.

A Pointed Pen Calligraphy Workshop will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 10. For those seeking a deeper dive into calligraphy, these workshops provide a more advanced experience. Pointed pen calligraphy is an art form using specialized nibs and inks to produce exquisite, flowing letters with a timeless allure. Under the guidance of Katy Ackerman, owner of Lewes Lettering Co., attendees will develop the skills to create their own distinctive pieces of art. Tickets are $100 each.

Faux-Calligraphy Workshop: A Creative Introduction will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 16. Faux-calligraphy offers an approachable entry point into the art of hand lettering. Using only a standard pen or pencil, participants will learn how to craft aesthetically pleasing letters that mimic traditional calligraphy. No fancy tools or prior experience are needed. This workshop will take place just days after Mother’s Day, making the experience the perfect gift for Mom. Tickets are $45 each.

To reserve space, go to lewesletteringcoshop.com or visit the shop at 112A Front St., Lewes. Availability is limited. All supplies are included with ticket.
