Lewes Lions Club donates $3K to KSI

May 27, 2024

KSI recently received a generous $3,000 grant to go toward nutritional services from the Lewes-Rehoboth Beach Rotary Club.

Grant funds enabled KSI to purchase two cold storage units to be placed closer to the serving line where participants’ breakfasts and lunches are served. Items like milk, fruit juices and fruit cups can be stored there. The large refrigerated unit replaces an older cold storage unit that has not worked for over a year. A smaller unit was also purchased to provide additional cold storage. The new equipment not only better meets the facility’s cold storage needs but also makes the food service line more efficient. KSI was also able to purchase storage racks for the walk-in freezer to improve organization and increase overall freezer storage space.

KSI is a nonprofit agency that provides vocational training, employment, community integration, transportation, day habilitation, life enrichment and nutritional services to individuals with disabilities throughout Sussex and Kent counties.
