Lewes Polar Bears celebrate New Years with a plunge

Nearly 70 Polar Bears jumped into the 43-degree Atlantic Ocean at the Cape Henlopen State Park to celebrate 2020. DAN COOK PHOTOS

The Lewes Polar Bear Club made their yearly New Year’s Day plunge into the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Henlopen State Park Jan. 1. The sky was bright and sunny with an air temperature of 48 degrees and a water temperature of 43 degrees.
