Lewes police investigate shots fired at Jefferson Apartments
Lewes police are investigating after gunshots were fired outside the Jefferson Apartments Aug. 21.
A report of multiple gunshots was made at 2:37 a.m. at the apartments at 825 Kings Highway, said Lewes Police Chief Thomas Spell.
Upon police arrival, he said, police found nine ejected and spent bullet casings, and a white Ford Crown Victoria with multiple bullet holes to the windshield and hood area. No one was injured, Spell said, and there are no witnesses at this time.
Several local surveillance videos captured the incident and show a person wearing dark clothing approach the car, fire multiple shots, and then flee the area.
