The Lewes Presbyterian Church Evangelism Committee held a Prayer Walk Sept. 15, with prayers offered in support of community members.
Participants walked around town praying for medical and emergency personnel, children in area communities and local leaders who serve in Lewes. Attendees met in the church parking lot and walked over to the police station, praying for the protection its officers provide, the safety and security they offer, and the wisdom needed in emergencies.
Next, they walked around the corner to Lewes City Hall and prayed for town leaders and for wisdom in their decision-making. From there, the group walked to Lewes Fire Department, praying for all volunteers, the families and lives they protect, and safety going to and from their calls. Next on the route was Beebe Healthcare, where participants prayed for all employees, patients and volunteers, asking for wisdom as they take care of those in need.
The last stop was Lewes Elementary School, where attendees prayed for a successful school year for all the teachers, students and volunteers, as well as those in administration. All were blessed with a beautiful day as they walked around town praying for the community.
