Lewes residents Sanjay and Lisa Ohri recently returned from a monthlong visit to the Philippines with their son JJ, a noted young musician who continues to expand his repertoire.
Among his most recent musical experiences, JJ played “Turkish March (Rondo Alla Turca)” by Mozart on the piano as part of the annual recital at the prestigious Miriam College Music Center in Manila. It was established in 1954 and is the only institution in the Philippines affiliated with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, a United Kingdom-based leading authority on musical assessment.
He also performed at the Annual Southwest Music Recital Concert - Season 15 to an audience of more than 100 at a mall in the Philippines. In a single set, JJ performed on drums, bass and lead guitar, and vocals including lead parts. Songs included “Seven Nation Army,” “Island In The Sun,” “Hotel California,” “Billionaire,” “You Belong with Me,” “Zombie” and a finale song with all recitalists - “It’s My Life.”
