September 12, 2011

A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts Inc. stores have raised more than $170,000 nationwide for Easter Seals during the company’s Crafting a Better World campaign. Locally, A.C. Moore stores in Wilmington and Dover alone raised more than $6,600 that will allow people with autism to access critical services in the region.

“We would like to thank everyone who was involved in raising critically needed dollars that will support people with autism in their local area,” said Bill Adami, president and CEO of Easter Seals Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

During the recent in-store fundraising campaign, A.C. Moore customers were encouraged to donate $1 to Easter Seals’ Act for Autism campaign at checkout, and participate in a free make-and-take craft event in April to learn about autism. Crafting is a way for families to play together and connect with their communities and serves as a creative outlet for children with autism.
