The Lord Baltimore Lions Club is midway through its 78th year of service to the local community. For many years, a core commitment for the club has been combating food insecurity. Lord Baltimore Lions members work as volunteers weekly to meet this need.
Recently, Lord Baltimore Lions Club President Lion Scott Brannan and several other members visited the Feed My Sheep Program and Food Pantry at Mariners Bethel Church in Ocean View to present a donation from the club to Jeanne Pekar, program co-chair. Over the past 15 years, Lord Baltimore Lions Club members have both supported the program and served as volunteers at the food pantry and the weekly food distribution at the Frankford Fire Hall.
This year, local funds raised for the Lord Baltimore Lions Club donation to combat food insecurity in its service region were enhanced through a grant award received from the Delaware Lions Foundation.
