Lori Morgan, passionate about racing
Lori Morgan, of Georgetown, 45, died peacefully after a four-day battle with an undiagnosed tumor early Sunday morning Oct. 9, 2016, at the Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Born July 28, 1971, Lori was the youngest daughter of the famous and beloved local barber, Dave Morgan and his wife Louise.
She is survived by two sisters, Jeannie Heck and Wendy Hitch, but anyone who knew the Morgans knew Lori was daddy's little girl and they cherished the ground the other walked on.
Lori had a passion for classic cars, racing, and anything with a motor, a passion she shared with the man she loved just as much for 16 years, Steven Downs, who recently passed in April of this year. The Softball World Series was another place Lori's shining smile could be found late into the nights preparing for games. No matter how tired she was, Lori enjoyed volunteering her time for those girls. Lori was a fiery personality who, despite her petite stature, feared no one, but had the largest heart, willing to give a stranger the shirt off her back.
Five children were left without her, Charity Faith Truitt, Ethan Truitt, Paden Truitt, Wyatt Truitt, and Branden Morgan; and three grandchildren, Raven Messick, Greyson Truitt, and Chord Truitt. Lori was always willing and ready to stand up for her children, loving them unconditionally. Family and friends are heartbroken for the sudden loss of Lori Morgan but chuckle to themselves when they eat a sweet or help themselves to a Wawa cappuccino because satisfying that sugar craving is the best testament given in her memory.
Join the family from 12 to 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 14, at the Atlantic Inn in Millsboro, where they will be celebrating the life of Lori Morgan, and yes there will be sweets awaiting the guests.
