Lullaby students bike for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

June 1, 2017

Lullaby Learning Center preschool students ages 3-5 studied bike safety and practiced riding on their backyard bike trail in preparation for their Pedaled for a Purpose fundraiser. Students and families gathered donations that were sent directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Donations sponsoring Lullaby’s  bike riders totaled over $5,000, and students couldn’t have been happier to contribute to support the families of St. Jude.

Families, friends, and community members gathered April 28 to support the 53 Lullaby students in their trike-a-thon.Touched by the stories of children fighting their battles with cancer at St. Jude, the team at Lullaby leapt at the chance to help. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way in which the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer. Families of St. Jude never receive a bill, allowing them to focus solely on helping their children get well.

This particular fundraiser emotionally hit home for many in the Lullaby family. The story of one of the school’s own students, Arden MacPhee, and her battle with childhood cancer provided much motivation. Tears fell throughout the crowd as Arden’s mother, Tray Sullivan, shared with the audience her family’s experiences as Arden fought and won her battle with cancer.
