Margaret 'Marty' Martin, retired cook
Margaret Anna "Marty" Martin, 76, of Milton, passed away peacefully in Milford, Thursday, June 11, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, Marty was the daughter of the late Howard Benjamin and Anna Margaret (Walker) Davis.
She worked as a preparation cook at Schaefer's Canal House before her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Martin in 2004; her children, Cynthia D. Carr and William R. McNeal; her grandson, Aaron Austin Weaver; her brothers, Leroy, Walter J. and Howard B. Davis; and her sister, Mabel I. Schimelfenig.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Deborah Lea Holloway and her husband, William of Alabama; her sons, Michael McNeal of Milton and Patrick S. McNeal and his wife Denise of Maryland; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Carole Davis of Newark; and two brothers, Donald G. Davis of Dover and Gregory A. Davis of Wilmington.
Friends and family are invited to visitation Tuesday, June 16, between 3 and 5 p.m., at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. Interment will be private.
