A goal by Mariner’s Grace Wiggins and a bad bounce score by the Riders in the first half were the only tallies in the Oct. 23 field hockey game as the Vikings moved to 3-3-1.
“Our defense and midfielders put on an excellent effort to keep Fifer out of our scoring circle,” said head coach Hannah Pepper. “They had pretty good passing today, and Morgan [Newcomb] did a great job in goal.”
Pepper gave kudos to her midfield and defense of Sam Swift, Lucia Pons, Jilliyn Citro, Grace Wiggins, Katie Cerf, Abby Marsh, Rylie Cathcart, Maddie Long and Abi Crouch.
The Vikings will host Sussex Academy Monday, Oct. 28.
