Meet Bette Gallo, Community Bank Delaware Director of the Month
Bette Gallo, a founding member of Community Bank Delaware, has called Sussex County home for over 40 years. In 1979, Bette and her husband Sal created Gallo Realty in Lewes. With offices in Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach and Lewes, the two-person company has grown to over 125 agents.
Along with their children Lee Ann Wilkinson, Tricia Ratner and son-in-law Andrew Ratner, the Gallos have nurtured the firm to consistently rank in the top 50 Berkshire Hathaway Affiliates in the nation.
Gallo has supported dozens of local nonprofit and charitable entities over the years. She served as an officer on the board of Rehoboth Beach Main Street and was chosen as Rehoboth Beach Citizen of the Year. She also served with other nonprofit groups such as Realtors Community Service, Lewes Canalfront Park and Beebe Hospital School of Nursing.
Bette and Sal Gallo recently created the Gallo Gives Foundation, which grants two annual scholarships to local graduating high school seniors as well as making quarterly donations to local organizations.
She has made it a point to model a vigorous work ethic, enhanced with honesty and integrity. Residing in Historic Lewes with Sal, Bette enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her community volunteerism and stewardship have been a constant inspiration to her family as well as the agents and team members of BHHS Gallo Realty.
As Community Bank Delaware's Director of the Month, Gallo is awarded $500 for her charity of choice, Gallo Gives Foundation.
