A Memorial Bench was dedicated in memory of former City of Lewes maintenance foreman Lawrence "Larry" McLaughlin by the Lewes Lions Club, City of Lewes staff and Lewes City Council members Oct. 17 at the Pavilion on Savannah Road.
McLaughlin was killed in a motorcycle accident July 4, 2010. He was a past president of the Lewes Lions Club, member of the Redmen's Lodge, Nassau, member and past president of the Punkin Chunkin Association, member of ABATE, member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 17, and member of the Legion Riders Post 28 Oak Orchard.
The bench is just one of the three benches built in his memory. A second bench is on Lewes Beach and a third is in front of Huling Cove adult community.
