Mermaid Tasha to sign conservation storybooks April 23

Local author Tasha Haight, also known as Mermaid Tasha, will be signing copies of two of her recently published children’s books, “Mermaid Tasha’s Mission” and “Glitter is Not the Winner,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, April 23, at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.

Haight will discuss the theme of ocean conservation, and protection of marine species and ecosystems in waterways around the world.

A rhyming book, “Glitter is Not the Winner,” educates readers on microplastics and the damage traditional glitter can cause. In “Mermaid Tasha’s Mission,” Haight tells why Tasha left the ocean to teach humans about environmental issues like plastic pollution and red tides.

A member of the elite team of professional mermaids at Circus Siren Entertainment, Haight is an experienced lifeguard, PADI divemaster, and NAUI skin diving and mermaid instructor.
