The Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute’s annual Finraiser will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Salero oceanfront venue atop the Henlopen Hotel in Rehoboth Beach.
While supporting local marine mammal and sea turtle rescue and research, attendees can celebrate with music, food, wine tasting and getting a jump on holiday gift-giving.
Auction items up for bid from Delaware businesses include fine art pieces, gift baskets, home goods, pet items, sporting goods and travel packages.
“The Finraiser is our biggest celebration of the year,” said Suzanne Thurman, MERR executive director. “It’s a chance for us to share all of our hard work and efforts throughout the year in a fun, exciting evening that also serves as one of our biggest fundraisers that helps us fund our rescue efforts. This is a great opportunity for people to learn more about our conservation work for marine animals and their ocean habitat, while contributing to a cause that is near and dear to so many hearts.”
Past events have sold out, so early ticket purchase is encouraged. For more information, go to merrinstitute.org.
