In response to a successful 2023-24 Met Live in HD season, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present the Little Met by the Sea - The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD Summer Encore Series at the Cinema Art Theater.
Prerecorded Wednesday matinees begin with Puccini’s “La Boheme” at 2 p.m., July 24. Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” is set for 2 p.m., July 31. Showtime for Puccini’s “Turandot” is 2 p.m., Aug. 7. The Gershwins’ “Porgy and Bess” will be shown at 2 p.m., Aug. 14. In addition to the opera performance, the summer encore series features Met stars conducting live interviews with cast and/or various production crew members while showing behind-the-scenes features.
Beginning this fall, the Metropolitan Opera series will be screened live from New York City. The film society team thanks patrons for their donations along with funds from the Longwood Foundation to secure satellite equipment and a sound system upgrade to Dolby 7.1 surround sound in time for the fall program season.
Admission for The Met: Live in HD broadcasts is $25 for adults, $22 for RBFS members, $22 for seniors ages 65 and above, and $10 for students with ID. To purchase tickets, go to rehobothfilm.com.
