Michael Conry Sr., devoted family man
Michael Conry Sr., 66, of Lewes passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Michael, the son of the late Donald and Ellen (Doyle) Conry, was born and raised in Newark, N.J.
Michael graduated from Essex Catholic High School and began his career in public service as a correctional officer before joining the Newark Police Department. Michael rose through the ranks to lieutenant before retiring in 2000. After retirement, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling cross country in his RV with his wife, Pam, and their children to visit the national parks. He loved hosting Christmas Eve and summer pool parties at his home in Budd Lake. He moved to Delaware in 2013 where he enjoyed driving his Jeep on the beach with his dog Jerzee, watching his Green Bay Packers games, reading and playing trivia. He enjoyed returning to New Jersey to celebrate holidays and attend parties where he always held court sharing stories of his younger years, nights at The Hideaway and Muscle Beach.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Pamela (Tsairis), and their loving children, Michael and wife Erin, and Caitlin Conry. Michael is also survived by his seven siblings and their spouses, Donald and Mary-Ellen Conry, Maryann and Raymond Walters, twin sister Patricia and David Zaros Sr., Barbara and Dave Rhodes, Dolores and Ed Poppert, Jean and Bill Joyce, Carolyn and Dan Flint, and his in-laws. Uncle Mike will always be cherished by his 23 nieces and nephews, their spouses, and his 18 grand-nieces and -nephews.
Above all, Michael was a devoted family man and protector of those he loved. He was loyal to the core. To know him was to love him. He lived a life that’s full, he travelled each and every highway and more, much more than this, he did it his way.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
In lieu of flowers, raise a glass of Irish Whiskey in honor of Mike’s life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private Funeral Services via livestreaming will be held Sunday, March 14, at 1:15 p.m. All are welcome to join the stream by visiting the following link: http://www.parsellfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/permalink/9876888/LTWebcast
