Michael Tucker Sr., jack of all trades

October 15, 2022

Michael “Pop” Tucker Sr., 68, of Lewes, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare. He was born March 25, 1954, in Wilmington, son of the late Earl W. and Catherine B. (Donahue) Tucker.

Pop was a proud veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. A  jack of all trades, he held careers as a crane operator, master mechanic and truck driver. He served the city of Wilmington Manor as volunteer firefighter at Station 28 and was a loyal member of the Freemasons. Pop enjoyed crabbing and “drowning worms,” as he liked to say, and found great pleasure in woodworking. His faith was an anchor in his life, and he was proud to have been brought up in the Catholic faith. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with those he held most dear. Pop was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Pop was preceded in death by his niece, Lucretia “TC” Tucker. He is survived by his beloved wife, Clara Tucker; his Mom II, Janice Schafferman Lewis; his children, Clara Marshall, Charles Marshall, Michael Tucker Jr. (Katie), Angela Tucker Seldomridge; his grandchildren, Nicholas Bradley Jr. (Delaney Midash), Lucretia “Lulu” Bradley (Ethan Walker), Vivian “Monster” Warwick, Todd Warwick Jr., Xander Seldomridge, Braelyn Tucker, Tucker Seldomridge, Carly Clara Tucker, Zoey Marshall, Ray Seldomridge, Jacquelyn Marshall, Elizabeth Marshall and Christopher Marshall; his great-grandchildren, EJ Walker and Isabelle Marshall; and his brother, Karl Schafferman (Marion).
