Millville Fire Company Outdoorsman Marketplace set Jan. 11

The second annual Millville Fire Company’s Outdoorsman Marketplace, presented by the Voice Radio Network’s The Vault Classic Rock 103.5 &102.9, will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, inside the Millville fire hall, 35554 Atlantic Ave., Millville.

The event will benefit the Millville Volunteer Fire Company to help raise money for a new fire hall. Entry fee for the public is $5 at the door. Each entry receives a door prize ticket. The ladies auxiliary will have breakfast and lunch available in the main area.

Door prizes this year include: a weekend cabin stay at Trap Pond State Park, an electric tongue jack from East Coast Campers and More, an electric flare kit from Bob’s Marine, a kayak tackle box from Icehouse Bait and Tackle, a surf-fishing package from DS Custom Tackle, hoodies and T-shirts from Delaware Surf Fishing’s Summer Surf Fishing Slam Series, and a $100 gift card from Indian River Golf Cars. 

For four extra door prize tickets, order tickets online by Friday, Jan. 10, at www.stubcentral.net. Show confirmation email at the door to receive the extra door prize tickets. 

This year’s event will boast more fishing and hunting vendors, and the firearms simulator from Atlantic Tactical Firearms Trainers is returning. There will also be virtual reality games for kids and adults to enjoy. Boats, RVs, nautical-themed crafts and antiques will also be featured. Icehouse Bait and Tackle is setting up a tackle shop at the event, with deals at 30 to 50 percent off.

There will be a Chinese auction with donated vendor items; ticket holders do not have to be present to win. Aquaculture oysters from Dewey Selects will be available, What The Shuck It’s Only A Buck, with all proceeds going to the Millville Volunteer Fire Company. The University of Delaware will provide information about the Inland Bays oyster farming efforts as well as invasive species. Oysters will be available at 10 a.m.

A gun raffle will start at 7 a.m. Participants must pass a background check to participate. Guns will be raffled with a deck of cards per gun, 54 cards in the deck (jokers included), $20 per card. Some guns will be $10 per card. Guns are donated by G & E Hardware and have to be picked up from there the day after the event. The following guns will be raffled: Ruger 10/22 22 Long Rifle, Savage hX15 223 Caliber, Winchester Super X3 12 Gauge, Tristar 28 Gauge, CVA 450 Bushmaster, Remington 870 12 Gauge, Savage 220 20 Gauge, and Mossberg 500 Combo 12 Gauge.
