Milton Arts Guild will offer its first watercolor workshop as its November pARTy, from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the MAG Gallery in the Studios on Walnut, 310 Walnut St., Milton. Instructor Anne Buck will guide participants through the experience of creating art with watercolor.
She has a bachelor of science degree in ornamental horticulture and landscape design, and a master's in biology. She taught middle school biology for nearly 20 years. After retiring, Buck followed her passion for design and began taking a series of workshops in watercolor, studying with Mary Whyte, Charles Reid, Mel Stabin, Ted Nuttall, Janet Rogers and Marie Natale, among others.
She is a board member of the Milton Arts Guild and a member of the Delaware Watercolor Society, the Rehoboth Art League, Millsboro Art League and Delaware By Hand. She teaches watercolor workshops at the Studios On Walnut in Milton. Her work can be seen at the MAG Gallery in the Studios On Walnut and at the Savannah Inn in Lewes. Buck says, "I am an artist who loves the luminosity and translucence of watercolor. I work to create pieces with vibrant color in a somewhat impressionistic style." It will be exciting for participants in the workshop to see that passion and approach applied as they create their own original watercolor painting of 'Sky Over the Marsh.'"
The fee for the workshop is $35. Participants are advised to bring their own paints and brushes or to call or email the instructor for a supply list. Registration is encouraged as space is limited. To register, discuss supplies or for more information, contact Anne Buck at 302-645-5149 or annebuck2@comcast.net. Proceeds from MAG's pARTies entirely benefit the nonprofit Milton Arts Guild.
