Milton Elementary School Milton 5 Leadership Team members recently visited the Food Bank of Delaware facility in Milford to deliver items collected during a schoolwide drive.
The food drive netted 2,290 canned goods donations, which resulted in about 1,900 pounds of food items delivered to the food bank.
During their visit to drop off the donations, students had the opportunity to tour the facility. They were able to learn about the process of how the food comes into the warehouse, visit the packaging and volunteer room, and see the culinary school located within the Food Bank. Students even had the chance to enjoy cookies baked for the on-site café.
