Milton homes take center stage on Holiday House Tour

Among the houses on the tour was the home/office of attorney Philip Finestrauss and his wife Andrea at 112 Broad St. Their home was built in 1874 and still maintains its original kitchen fireplace. A perfect winter afternoon Dec. 9 was the setting for the annual Milton holiday tradition known as the Holiday House Tour.
The tour, organized by the Women’s Club of Milton, allowed visitors to see 12 historic buildings and homes within the town’s historic district. The houses were decorated for the holiday season, with trees, decorations and lights abound.

Greg Hitz, owner of 305 Federal St., greets visitors to his home, which was originally built in 1880.

Many of the homes on the tour had themes. The main theme of the home of Mike and Kathy Clark is Mike’s collection of Santa Claus figurines.

Besides residential houses, other historic buildings in Milton were featured on the tour, including the Golden Rule Lodge building, built in 1855 and which houses the Milton chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows.
