Traffic in Milton was slowed during the week of April 10, but this time, it was for a good cause.
Twelve artists are taking part in a town-wide program to turn crosswalks into works of art. The program is designed to get motorists to slow down when approaching crosswalks.
Milton received $12,000 in grant funding from the Delaware AARP as part of the organization’s community challenge program, which is aimed at implementing quick-action projects to help communities become more livable in the long term by improving public places. Part of the program will include a map to show the locations of the crosswalks.
The crosswalks are also part of efforts to add more public art, which also included the debut of the new murals project in Mill Park April 16.
