Molly Kaye Ward, comforter, supporter
Molly Kaye “Grammie” Ward, 65, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of LaPlata, Md., passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in Pennsylvania. She was born April 13, 1947, in Ellwood City, Pa., daughter of the late Vincent F. and Mary C. (Curry) Morgan.
Molly moved to the Washington, D.C. area shortly after high school where she met her former husband, the late John Ward. They were married for 33 years and remained dear friends. She worked in the hotel industry for many years with her brother Mike. Most of her career was spent in the mortgage industry. She retired last month and moved to Rehoboth Beach to be with Carrie and Kt, ready to begin her new adventures.
Above all else, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, best friend, mentor. She was Grammie.
To all, Molly was a comforter and supporter, always ready to listen and encourage. She brightened your spirit when you needed a lift and joined you in celebrating all of your joys. Everything that mattered to you mattered to Molly and she was interested in your smallest details. She always made you feel that she was right there alongside of you, and you were so glad to have her there. Her loyalty and dedication to her family, her friends and her work made her so special to many.
She enjoyed her garden, her porch and her morning cup of coffee, but most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandkids Kt and Jackson. She also had a special love for her kitty, Emmy, who misses her very much. We all miss you and are so very grateful for all the memories we have shared. Our time together was too short, but all of our lives have been forever blessed by the gifts that you gave each of us.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Chad Morgan (2011). She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Roland of Rehoboth Beach; her son, Jeff Ward and his wife Rebecca Ward of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two grandchildren: Kt Roland of Rehoboth Beach, and Jackson Ward of St. Petersburg; her brother, William J. Morgan and his wife Elli, of Mechanicsville, Md.; and her sister, Shaleen DeSanzo of Ellwood City, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Delaware SPCA, 22918 DuPont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE 19947.
