Moorings at Lewes to host art reception June 29

The Moorings at Lewes will host a wine and cheese reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Friday, June 29. The event is open to the public and provides an opportunity for residents of the Moorings at Lewes and guests to view Delaware Shore Artists' works on display.

Artwork will also be available for purchase.

In 2004 a small group of artists began studies at Wilmington University in Rehoboth Beach. The students learned philosophy of art, techniques and elements of design. Their passion for art led them to expand their artistic expression, explore various mediums and develop individual styles. Delaware Shore Artists became an official organization in 2010 and continues to meet in studios and art salons. Invited to exhibit their works at various art venues each year, the artists have created visual expressions of experiences, emotions and observations and are pleased to share their art.

The reception will include works by Delaware Shore Artists Jane Duffy, Alan Keffer, Jane Knaus, LaVerne McIntyre, Bev Morgan, Curt Smith, Margie Spaulding and Phyllis Zwarych.
