Most Blessed Sacrament names essay contest winners
Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School students in Jackie Selba’s eighth-grade religion class recently participated in a Knights of Columbus essay contest. “How do I live and embody the virtue of charity?” was the writing prompt to which students responded.
A panel of judges chose three winning essays. On behalf of Grand Knight Robert Oliver, the Knights of Columbus Council 11285 from St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Georgetown and mission church Mary Mother of Peace in Millsboro awarded gift cards and certificates to the winning students.
The school encourages its students to participate in acts of charity with many service projects throughout the year. Students frequently share ideas for projects after they personally have witnessed a particular need. The essay contest offered eighth-graders the opportunity to evaluate their own abilities to recognize need.
Most Blessed Sacrament is located at 11242 Racetrack Road, Berlin, Md. For more information about admissions, contact Amanda Evans, director of admissions and advancement, at 410-208-1600 or aevans@mbscs.org.
